Citizenship Programme workshop on Decoupage
Recycling turns waste into new things which is like ‘MAGIC’.
Art from waste is an interesting way to recycle and reuse items that end up in a bin. We get loads of plastic and glass bottles in day-to-day life, adding up to the rising mountains of waste.
The students at The Indian School-Second Shift learnt the unique art of ‘Decoupage’ to recycle waste bottles and jars. The workshop for classes VIII and IX was initiated by Ms Sangeeta Aswani under The Citizenship Program on 19 May, 2022.
Ms Aswani demonstrated the art of Decoupage to transform waste bottles and jars into beautiful art pieces that can be used as flower pots, napkin holders, etc. Simple and easily available materials like paper napkins, Modge Podge glue, acrylic colours along with waste glass bottles and jars were used to make Decoupage bottles.
The students took keen interest in discovering this beautiful art. They learnt it and used their own imagination to create lovely pieces. They enjoyed the workshop thoroughly.
