Clean-Up Drive @ The Indian School - Second Shift
The clean person is not the one that runs away from dirt but one who takes the time and effort to tidy up a dirty environment.
Under the Citizenship Programme, students of class VII of The Indian School-Second Shift took the initiative of cleaning the lane adjacent to School on 29 September, 2022, as a special remembrance of Gandhiji's value of Swachhata close to Gandhi Jayanti.
As we know the lanes are generally filled with dry leaves, paper, plastic wrappers, etc. To raise awareness, the students geared up wearing masks, gloves and with brooms in their hands under the supervision of Ms Neeti Gupta, to clean up the lane. They swept the road clean and collected all the waste in garbage bags. Soon the road was sparkling clean with the efforts made by young hands.
The activity was organised to promote a clean and healthy environment around the school premises and to raise awareness among the students to take part in community services for the benefit of society. The event was also an opportunity for them to realise the importance of a clean environment and the efforts taken by frontline workers to keep our citiy clean.
