Citizenship Programme initiative: Clay Modelling workshop
Recycle today for a better tomorrow…
Recycling plays a pivotal role in conserving energy, reducing landfill waste, and safeguarding our environment. To emphasise the significance of recycling, a Clay Modelling Workshop was organised on 28th July 2023, for classes 9 and 10. This was an initiative of the Citizenship Programme.
During the workshop, ths group was shown an engaging PowerPoint presentation, enlightening the young participants about the importance of recycling in today's world. The numerous benefits of recycling and its instrumental role in promoting sustainability was conveyed to the students.
Subsequently, the students were introduced to the artistic world of clay modelling. Guided by their teacher, they learned how to mould airborne clay into exquisite designs, which were then applied to repurpose old glass bottles, jam jars and broken coffee mugs.
The students actively participated in the workshop, exploring their artistic flair to give new life to discarded items. With enthusiasm and ingenuity, they crafted beautiful designs, turning old bottles, jars, and mugs into remarkable pieces of art.
This workshop instilled in the students a deeper appreciation for recycling as an essential tool for environmental preservation. By encouraging young minds to repurpose everyday items, the workshop aimed to inspire a positive change in consumption habits, thereby contributing to a cleaner and greener future.
In conclusion, the clay modelling workshop on Best out of Waste demonstrated the potential of transforming waste into art and the importance of recycling in securing a better and brighter future for all. It stands as a shining example of how a simple initiative can sow the seeds of a positive change in our society and towards our environment.
