Citizenship Programme: community service for eradication of hunger
Zero Hunger and No Poverty…. To learn more about this sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2, as a part of the ISA project, the children of class I of The Indian School-Second Shift visited The Royal Plaza Hotel on 5th February 2020. The Royal Plaza organises a ‘langar’ for the poor and needy people every Tuesday and Saturday to contribute to the social cause of Hunger and Poverty. The belief that an empty stomach leads to an empty mind led to the inception of this langar 7 years back. The students were excited to see a huge number of people line up for the langar and they joined in enthusiastically to serve them lunch along with the hotel staff. This initiative is a great contribution towards eradicating poverty globally. The students understood the importance of food and felt proud to be a part of such a noble and global cause.
