World Music Day celebrations across the classes

Music gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything. It has the power to tie people in a single string of rhythm and create something completely pure and magical.
World Music Day is celebrated on 21st June every year. Music not only plays a vital role in the overall holistic development of students but also creates awareness about it among them especially it significance.
World Music Day was enthusiastically observed by the students of The Indian School-Second Shift with fervour. Our budding stars of class1 celebrated the day by learning the names of the different musical instruments. They were shown an audio-visual clip relating to the same. They also sang songs in English and Hindi with expressive actions.
The excited students of class II sprang into World Music Day activity by attempting to play instruments like the casio, drum, violin, guitar, etc. It was an exercise of their critical and kinesthetic skills as they, hereby for a chance to recognise their feelings and emotions in a better manner.
Class 3 students crafted different musical instruments using recycled material and utilising their creative ideas which in turn helped them gain new knowledge about the instruments. It helped stimulate their imagination.
The musicians of class 4 dressed up as rock stars and created musical posters to celebrate World Music Day. They had an amazing opportunity to experience the joy that music can bring.
Class 5 crafted DIY musical instruments with dexterity and patience.
Class 6 celebrated by making posters on the theme “Make Music” and also played their favourite musical instruments.
Class 7 made posters on the theme of music and also played musical instruments like the guitar to spread the joy of music around.The creative students of class 8 composed songs on the occasion.
This celebration of music made a vital contribution to the overall holistic development of the students and also created awareness among the children about the importance of music in our lives.
