World Heritage Day celebrations at TFS

This land and our heritage is not an asset of ours, on the contrary we have borrowed it from our ancestors to lend it to our coming generations.

A special assembly was conducted on 18th April 2019 by the students of class IIIB to mark the importance of World Heritage Day. It exposed the students to the diversity of cultural heritage, its vulnerability and efforts required for its preservation by students.

Karan, our young anchor for the programme, started the proceedings with an short speech. She was followed by Aqib who explained why World Heritage Day is also referred to as International Day for Monuments and Sites. A video on World Heritage Sites in India was then shown to students to familiarise them with the rich cultural heritage that we have, along with the existing diversity worldwide. The PPT presentation, showed how our precious monuments are on the brink of being lost due to the callous attitude of people who fail to understand that destroying monuments is destroying history.

The assembly concluded with a pledge to preserve our monuments.
