Workshop on NEP 2020 and NCF 2023 in regard to Hindi language teaching
A workshop on the National Education Policy 2020 and the National Curriculam Framework 2023 was conducted on 30 November 2023 at Cambridge School, Sriniwas Puri. The workshop was conducted by Madhuban Publication House and attended by Ms Kalyani of the Hindi department of The Indian School-Second Shift. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Jain, an associate of the organisers addressed the gathering of numerous Hindi teachers from all over Delhi.
The workshop was divided into two sessions. In the first half, NCF 2023 was discussed in detail, and the second half was a question-answer session, where teachers posed several questions to Dr Jain. He narrated two short stories and then told the teachers to connect the two, and how we can integrate this kind of a study pattern in our curriculi.
The workshop commenced with an in-depth overview of NCF 2023, emphasising its goals, structure, and the rationale for its revisions. Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the framework's vision for holistic education. It aimed to provide educators and language enthusiasts with new insights into the changes and innovations in the curriculum, particularly in the context of the Hindi language. One of the primary objectives of the workshop was to familiarise participants with the key principles of the NCF 2023, understand its impact on Hindi language teaching, and explore effective pedagogical approaches aligned with the new framework.
Emphasis was placed on experiential learning, storytelling and the integration of technology to enhance the Hindi language learning experience. One of the significant aspects of the workshop was the exploration of a multilingual approach to language teaching. Educators received guidance on designing assessments that evaluate not only language proficiency but also critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills.
In line with the framework's emphasis on inclusivity, the workshop highlighted practices to make Hindi language education accessible to learners with diverse needs. Strategies for adapting materials, addressing learning gaps, and creating an inclusive learning environment were discussed.
With a focus on innovative pedagogies, multilingualism, and inclusivity, the workshop equipped participants with knowledge and tools needed to navigate the evolving landscape of Hindi language education. The insights gained will surely contribute to fostering a more engaging and effective learning experience for students.
