When Melody builds Bridges!
The Indian School-Second Shift recently welcomed musical visitors all the way from Lahore, on 19th October 15. The Peace Band from Lahore made up of artists from all walks of life coming together in a common passion that binds them together music. The lead singer Diam Gill is a physical instructor at a school, yet his versatile song ranging from soulful Sufi to foot-tapping numbers scintillated the little audience.
The band performed some timeless and some catchy new musical pieces for the children and the teachers. They opened with a serenade Sufi song, which fueled our anticipation of a significant event! The band had to offer a unique set of songs which included an assorted range of music ranging from traditional Pakistani and Bollywood numbers something that never ceases to excite the audience.

The musical experience was greatly enhanced by the interaction of the singer with the children and of course the familiarity of several of the songs. The resonating sound of the ensemble of drums, guitar, and dholak created a warm vibe, an effect that echoed right through the performance. It was the fusion music and medley which received the loudest cheers and the band did not feel any challenges playing before a large group of tiny tots. The performance became livelier and energetic and the applause grew louder with every passing minute, creating an exciting climax to the entire piece.
As it is rightly said, if there is anything that brings together people and not divide them, it is music. Overall, it was a great musical experience and the quality of the melodies made a lasting impression on the students.
