Visit to National Bal Bhawan

The Indian School-Second Shift endeavours to provide a holistic learning to its young and impressionable wards. Classroom learning is often linked to experiential learning. In this context the students of class II paid a visit to the National Bal Bhawan on Kotla Road.

A group of 80 exuberant students escorted by their teachers stepped into a one- of-its-kind museum in India on 16th October, 2018. The museum houses a breathtaking collection of art and crafts reflecting our glorious heritage and includes beautiful dolls from our epics and tales.

The exterior walls of the museum are covered with interesting graffiti and paintings depicting the culture and the traditions of the different states of India. The students were able to view at a glance the rich and vibrant cultural heritage of our country.

Next, the group visited the traffic park located on the campus. They were briefed on the dos and the donts of driving and walking on the road- special focus on road signs and traffic rules. A video on Road Safety was also shown to them.

The students were amazed to see the Science Park. They also visited the mini zoo and aviary. They were astonished to see over 20 varieties of birds.

In the Fish Corner, the students learnt the names of the diverse varieties of fish. The aquarium also possesses species which live in dark deep caves in the sea.

Finally, it was time to board our buses and head back to School. It was a fun-filled educational trip which provided the students with a joyful and an enriching learning experience in an outdoor classroom, so to say.
