Visit by classes 8-10 to the Festival of Innovations and Entrepreneurship at Rashtrapati Bhavan

The National Innovation Foundation (NIF) – India organised the Festival of Innovations and Entrepreneurship [FINE] at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, from April 10th -13th, 2023. The honourable President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu inaugurate the festival on 10th April 2023. School students were welcome to attend the festival on any day between 11th and 13th April 2023.

For several years in a row, the FINE is our country’s flagship initiative towards respecting, recognising and rewarding the creativity of the common Indian jointly organized by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), the Government of India and the National Innovation Foundation (NIF).

Students of classes 8, 9 and 10 of The Indian School Second Shift attended the exhibition on 11th April 2023. It was a very good opportunity for the students to observe the innovations by grassroot innovators as well as by students from all over the country. A date seed extractor, a moving scarecrow, walnut peeling machine, tractor operated groundnut decorticator cum grader, automated vending machine, and patient friendly beds were a few among the hundreds of innovative machinery and products that the students observed. They were fortunate to pose their questions directly to the inventors themselves.

The students not only saw the numerous areas of innovation, but also got encouraged seeing young entrepreneurs working hard. They were motivated to think differently, innovate and create something 'out of the box'.

This experience proved to be a great opportunity for our students, widening their horizons and paving a way for a creative and innovative life ahead.
