Virtual interaction with an educator in China for Preschool

On 1st November 2021, the students of Pre School of The Indian School-Second Shift had an opportunity to interact with Mr Mauritz Eduardo, an ESL expert from Kunming, Yunnan, China.

Mr Eduardo shared rhymes and stories relating to the topic “My Feelings”  with the help of flashcards and props. The exercise engaged the children and lent to building new vocabulary and word recognition skills. Infact the topic was apt as it related directly to their daily lives and experiences. The activity greatly entertained and educated the students simultaneously.

The session started with the song  “Hello, Hello, Hello and how are you? I’m fine, I’m fine, and I hope that you are too! ” Mr Eduardo asked the children to choose a feeling such as happy, mad, sad, surprised etc. and asked them to draw pictures relating to the emotion they feeling at that moment.

The children were asked to use different colours to denote their feelings, for example, red for anger, green for happiness, yellow for excitement and so on.

Mr Eduardo concluded the session with a short presentation on the topic where he asked the little ones questions. For our young learners, it was a novel experience as they got an opportunity to interact and at the same time to learn a new concept.
