Tiger Day activities

Don’t strip the stripes from the scenery.

Save the tigers, save our national animal!!

International Tiger Day is observed to raise awareness about tiger conservation. The day was founded in 2010, when the 13 tiger range countries came together to create Tx2 – the global goal to double the number of wild tigers by 2022.

To promote this cause, The Indian School-Second Shift, celebrated Global Tiger Day on 29 July 2021, organising various activities from Pre-school to Class VIII.

The students of Pre-school and Pre-primary were made aware about  the need to protect the natural habitat of tigers and to spread awareness about the conservation of tigers. The students made tiger masks with paper plates as a craft activity.

The students of classes 1 and 2 made ‘Tiger puppets’ using origami sheets. They also made badges and hangings to suggest various ways in which the students can make a valuable contribution to this noble cause.

The students of class 3 took the pledge “Tiger Tiger burning bright, will not let you fade from sight, that is my promise and for you we will fight. SAVE the TIGERS!.”

In classes 4 and 5, students made a word cloud on wordart.com using various adjectives, verbs, synonyms and words describing tigers.

Students of classes 6-8 wrote messages and essays to spread awareness on the theme, ‘Don’t let tigers be a part of history’

Overall, students acknowledged that tigers have a special place on the planet and in our lives and we must do all that we can to protect them.
