THE INDIAN SCHOOL-SECOND SHIFT - BLANKET DONATION DRIVE
Be a Hero for the Homeless This Winter
People usually say that homeless people die of the cold, but we feel that we must try to save them with woollen clothes and blankets.
This year Delhi experienced a bitterly cold winter. The severe cold was a threat to the aged and the challenged people, especially those without warm clothing and shelter.
The rise in air pollution levels and the early onset of winter this year have made many vulnerable, but at the same time it has given us an opportunity to serve humanity by donating blankets to the needy.
In this spirit, The Indian School-Second Shift carried out a blanket donation drive on 13 January, 2023. There cannot be a bigger satisfaction than saving someone’s life. Under the aegis of the Citizenship Programme at our School, students and teachers embarked on a blanket donation drive and distributed blankets to the needy. It was a reassuring demonstration of the values of compassion and sharing.
For relief from the cold, more than 50 helpless people on the roadside in Sant Nagar and Sriniwaspuri were handed blankets. All of them were extremely delighted and grateful for this act of kindness.
With this drive, many poverty-stricken people received the benefits that would eventually help them face the chilly weather.
