TERI workshop for teachers

The Energy and Resources Institute , also known as TERI, is a research institute based in New Delhi that conducts research in the fields of energy, environment and sustainable development. A workshop was  conducted by the same on-”Educator’s Workshop on Environment, Sustainable Development and Green Skills” on 14th September, 2021 via Microsoft Teams. Teachers from The Indian School-Second Shift participated in the State Level Capacity Building Initiative designed for teaching the community to reinforce an understanding of the environment and sustainable issues.

The project focused on creating awareness and enabling the school fraternity to comprehend its relationship with nature and make a concerted effort to conserve it through resource management initiatives at local levels. Our teachers- Ms. Anupriya Choudhary, Ms. Tincy Kaur, Ms. Shikha Yadav and Ms. Neelima Oberoi attended the webinar.

Ms. Neha, Fellow and Area Convenor welcomed the teachers. Next was an Expert Talk: Promoting Scientific Temper in Schools (Role of Olympiads and other Engagement Avenues)  by Dr. Prashant Singh , Associate Professor. GREEN Olympiad: Journey of 20 years was showcased by Dr Livleen K Kahlon, Associate Director. The session ended with an open house where a Q&A interaction was conducted for the teachers.

The webinar focused on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) by engaging teachers across the country on various programmes to teach about environmental conservation and creating innovative study material.
