Teachers observe World Meditation Day

The Indian School marked World Meditation Day on 21 December 2025 with a thoughtfully curated online session organised by the Physical Education department for the teachers of TIS and TIS SS. The initiative aimed to nurture mental well-being and underscore the vital role of meditation in harmonising the demands of both professional and personal life.

The session was graced by Principal Ms Tania Joshi and Vice Principal Dr Anu Singh. The programme began with a guided meditation session led by Ms Tanuja Bisht, who gently introduced participants to simple breathing exercises and mindfulness practices. Her calm guidance helped the teachers ease into a state of deep relaxation, fostering inner awareness and mental clarity. The soothing session created a peaceful ambience, allowing participants to momentarily detach from daily pressures and reconnect with the present moment.

Following this immersive experience, Ms Vanshika highlighted the profound benefits of meditation. She spoke about its role in enhancing mental health, alleviating stress and achieving emotional equilibrium. Emphasis was placed on how regular meditation strengthens concentration, nurtures emotional resilience and cultivates a positive outlook towards life. Special attention was drawn to the relevance of meditation for educators, as it promotes professional efficiency, patience and effective classroom management.

The enthusiastic and active participation of the teachers reflected the session’s impact and relevance. The programme proved to be both enlightening and rejuvenating, leaving participants inspired and reaffirming meditation as a powerful tool for holistic health, inner peace and overall well-being.
