Period Positive awareness session for the girls of classes 4-9

On 2 December 2025, The Indian School – Second Shift organised an insightful and confidence-building workshop for the girls of classes IV to IX. The session, titled “Period Positive”, focused on helping young students navigate the emotional and physical changes of puberty with clarity, comfort, and a positive mindset.

The session conductors created an engaging and supportive atmosphere right from the start. They spoke openly about the changes experienced during adolescence, highlighted the significance of personal hygiene, and introduced simple, healthy practices that every girl can follow during her menstrual cycle. Their interactive style made the discussion approachable and relatable for all age groups present.

A short educational video added further depth to the session. The visual explanation of the menstrual cycle was clear, reassuring, and thoughtfully presented, helping students understand their bodies better while dispelling common myths and worries. The video encouraged the girls to view menstruation as a normal, natural, and empowering part of growing up.

Towards the end, Headmistress Ms Sanjeeta Roy addressed the gathering with encouraging words, appreciating the initiative and reminding students to embrace these changes with confidence and self-respect. An interactive question–answer round followed, during which students enthusiastically voiced their queries. The facilitators responded patiently and thoughtfully, ensuring every girl felt heard and supported.

The workshop proved to be a valuable and meaningful initiative by The Indian School – Second Shift, equipping young girls with knowledge, reassurance, and a positive perspective on their journey through adolescence.
