Rhythm and sound, one of the essential elements of all creation cannot be ignored and allowed to limit the development of a child. Art forms cater to all kinds of learners. It may be noticed that even the so called back benchers develop confidence if given an opportunity to express themselves as an art.

Research has proved that problems like dyslexia and stammering can be controlled by activities based on the performing arts.
We now live in times where the young generation is continuously inundated with visuals from Bollywood songs accompanied by music videos that are often titillating. The need to integrate art education in formal schooling, therefore requires urgent attention if we are to retain our unique cultural identity in all its diversity and richness.Encouraging role play, drama, singing or recitation invaluable constructs confidence, unleashes imagination and empathy and teaches communication skills. It also helps make a link between mathematical principles of shape and aesthetic principles of composition. For example every painting tells a story which is best unfolded in creative thinking, sensitivities and imagination.
Poems converted to song, role plays of the Independence movement and integers for math with a mute enactment of moral based stories were a few activities which were carried out by teachers during the workshop.
