Special assembly on Independence Day
“Freedom is our birthright, and we shall protect it with pride." Lokmanya Tilak
With these words echoing in our hearts, the students of Classes III and IV presented a vibrant and heartfelt Independence Day Assembly on 14 August 2026. The programme was conceived not merely as a recitation of events, but as a living tribute to the courage, sacrifice and unity that define our nation.
The assembly opened with a warm welcome that set a tone of pride and purpose. This was followed by a thoughtful presentation on "Why we celebrate Independence Day", which helped our young learners to connect emotionally and intellectually with the significance of 15 August.
The spirit of patriotism came alive through a lively Patriotic Dance by Class 3, whose energy and coordination filled the hall with national pride. The celebration then honoured the brave hearts of India, as students introduced three Param Vir Chakra heroes, sharing stories of their valour and supreme sacrifice. These narratives encouraged children to respect and remember the silent guardians of our borders.
Learning turned joyful during the Patriotic Quiz, where enthusiastic participants showcased their knowledge of India’s freedom struggle, national symbols and great leaders. The quiz blended fun with facts, making the occasion both informative and engaging.
The patriotic spirit continued with a soulful rendition of “Sare Jahan Se Achha”, presented by the students of Classes 4 and 5. Their melodious performance created a sense of unity and pride among the students and teachers alike.
The assembly concluded with an inspiring address by our Headmistress, who spoke on freedom, responsibility and the duty of every child to become a conscientious citizen. Sharing real life anecdotes of soldiers protecting our borders, she reminded the students that freedom is not just a date, but a daily commitment.
The programme ended with the National Anthem, sung in reverence by all present. More than a ceremony, the assembly became a moment of collective reflection — where history met hope, and patriotism found expression in young voices.
