Special assembly for Republic Day by PP Dove

Republic Day commemorates the coming into effect of the Indian constitution.

Every year we, at TFS, reaffirm our loyalty to our country, acknowledging the sacrifices by our national heroes, and rededicate ourselves to building a stronger and better India.

This year also, the 71st  Republic Day was observed in all its solemnity and grandeur at The Indian School-Second Shift by the students of Pre-primary Dove on 25th January, 2020.

The assembly commenced with  the comperes of the day, Kanav and Richa explaining  the importance of the Indian constitution and how it came into force on 26 January 1950.The melodious choir presented a medley of patriotic songs starting with ‘Vande Mataram’, a heartfelt tribute to our motherland. The rhythmic beats reverberated with feelings of patriotism and eternal love for the country.  The essence of the occasion was further conveyed by the students who spoke about its significance and the the celebrations associated with it.

‘Citizenship consists in the service of the nation.’ – Jawaharlal Nehru. Keeping this in mind, a skit on our Constitutional framework (fundamental rights and duties) was presented by the students. The assembly area echoed with patriotic fervour as the students chorused ‘’Future bright, future bright. Do your duties, Know your rights!! The enactment by the students conveyed that the future of the country lies in their own hands. Hence, the need to inculcate good values in life in order to become responsible citizens.

Last but not the least, the rich culture and diversity of our country was showcased in a dance performance by the students. The melodious music and graceful movements were indeed a treat to the eyes and the ears. The assembly concluded with the national anthem sung together by the students and their teachers.
