Skype interaction with a teacher in Hungary

Nothing can be better than a skype session to upgrade and equip teachers with more resources to extend their classrooms

beyond their campus and reach out to the world regardless of the geographical distances. Ms.Dondi from Hungary a primary school teacher and Microsoft Innovative Educator did the honours to host a skype session on Using Skype in the Classroom to Enhance Learningwith the teachers of The Indian School-Second Shift on 28 February, 2019.

The session began with an introduction by both ends. Games, as we all know entices any child. It can be regarded as an important tool to encourage and support student learning subconsciously. Ms. Dondi shared her experiences of conducting skype sessions with students from all around the globe and proposed several mystery games for the teachers as well. To mention a few Bingo, Kahoot, Character Barchoba, Chain Game and many more. Cultural skype session is an undemanding way to connect to the cultures of different countries, she said. Students can use these mystery games to learn music, sing songs, learn geography, hone their language skills and so on.

The session became particularly absorbing when the teachers were engaged in a Mystery Animal game, Simon Says and finally an online kahoot game played with their peera using handsets .Although as adults it could pack a punch on us then, let alone children, one of the teachers was heard exclaiming!

The hour long session ended with everyone promising to attempt at least 3 of the games they learnt in their classroom and looked forward to collaborate with classes around the world using games.
