Safer Internet Day
The rapid rise of social media and online communication has brought numerous advantages, but it has also introduced significant risks. Recognising the need to educate students on responsible internet usage, The Indian School-Second Shift conducted a workshop to commemorate Safer Internet Day on 11.2.2025. The session aimed to help students understand crucial concepts such as cyber bullying, online etiquette, and social media safety.
The workshop emphasised the importance of navigating the digital world safely and responsibly. It provided students with a comprehensive list of Do’s and Don’ts while using online applications. Special attention was given to the strict adherence to safe online practices to prevent cyberbullying. Additionally, the session highlighted the importance of using the internet wisely and discouraged students from misusing social media to settle personal disputes.
Students of classes 7 to 9 actively participated in the workshop, which covered essential online safety measures. Through interactive discussions, they learned about cyber bullying, appropriate online behaviour, and the responsible use of social media platforms. To reinforce their understanding, a Q&A session was conducted at the end of the workshop, allowing students to clarify doubts and assess their grasp of the topics discussed.
The initiative successfully raised awareness among students about the potential risks associated with online activities and equipped them with the knowledge to use the internet safely. The workshop served as a valuable reminder of the importance of digital responsibility in today's interconnected world.
