Recognition Day
It was a day of great honor and pride for The Indian School-Second Shift as it majesticall pulled off the highly-anticipated Recognition Day on Saturday, 25th July, 2015. The school auditorium flocked with enthusiastic parents and families of the children, testified for the triumph and appreciation that came with the occasion.
The attendees were warmly ushered in by the teachers of TFS and led to the hall. By 12.15 pm, the chairs were filled and abuzz. As promised, the programme took off sharp at 12.30 am, with the honorable presence of chief guest, Dr. Nayana Goradia, Ms. Brinda Goradia Shroff, Ms. Tania Joshi ( Principal), Mrs. Susan Thomas ( Head Teacher) comfortably seated in the front row.

The inspirational song by our little choir, Umeedo waali dhoop transported the audience to their childhoods! Childhood is the most beautiful of all life's seasons and TFS aims to celebrate it. This soul-searching song was followed by the foot-tapping track Clap your hands performed by the children of class 3. Next was the much-awaited prize distribution of the Pre- School children. Parents beamed with pride as they watched their tiny tots confidently walk up on stage to receive their awards. The awardees were chosen after meticulous evaluation on the basis of the years performance.
The most talked about and looked out-for event THE ECO FASHION SHOW was one entertaining watch! The music and lights gave the stellar ambience as the little models sashayed the runway displaying their costumes with confidence. The costumes were prepared from waste materials and eco-friendly material like newspapers, tetra packs, candy wrappers, jute and more. The idea was to inspire people to shun wasting things and adopt the attitude of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The prize giving for Pre-Primary, classes 1, 2 and 3 followed. In conclusion a vote of thanks recorded gratitude to all those who assembled. The event ended with the School song Hum Baache Mann Ke Sache sung both by the teachers and the students. The song stands for the spirit and philosophy of The Indian School-Second Shift.
The occasion was not over yet! More was in store for the parents and children alike, as, at 2.30 pm, there was the Summer Project Exhibition where the projects of all the children prepared during the summer vacation were placed on display for the parents to see. Parents thronged the classes in impressive numbers to see the work of their wards and take photographs. It was a good opportunity for them to interact with the teachers and understand the children's progress.
