On 31st October 2017, Ms. Rajika DIxit conducted a special assembly on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patels birth anniversary, on 31 October, is observed as National Unity Day.
The assembly began with an introductory talk on the life of the Sardar and about his valuable contribution for uniting the states to form the Union of India.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is highly revered. He began as a lawyer and political activist, who became the architect of Modern India.
[gallery link="none" ids="12842,12843,12844"]After independence, Vallabhbhai played the critical role of the integration of over 500 princely states into the Indian Union. He was deeply influenced by Gandhis ideology and principles, having worked very closely with him.
The Sardar was the first Home Minister of Independent India and his uncompromising efforts for the consolidation of the country earned him the title Iron Man of India.
The children participated in the discussion actively and at the end the children and teachers took a pledge in the spirit of unification of our country and to make their own contributions to secure her. Ms. Inderpreet Kaur.
