She introduced the fundamental concepts of phonetics, exploring the physical properties of speech sounds and their representation. Teachers learned about articulatory, acoustic, and auditory aspects of phonetics, enhancing their understanding of language sounds.

The workshop emphasised the importance of phonological awareness in language acquisition and literary development. It helped gain insights into activities and techniques for promoting phonological awareness among the students of all age groups.

It enabled participants to explore the relationship between sounds and written symbols, including graphemes, diphthongs, and trigraphs. Practical examples and exercises facilitated understanding of the sounds and their application in teaching.

Ms Aggarwal also shared the process of mapping words, understanding syllable stress, and utilising diacritical marks for accurate pronunciation. This enabled the participants to understand how to effectively use these tools in teaching and assessing pronunciation.

Later, the question and answer session promoted engagement and collaboration among participants. It delved into the intricacies of consonant sounds, including voiced and voiceless sounds, consonant clusters, and common pronunciation challenges. Ms Aggarwal offered practical strategies for addressing these challenges in the classroom. The session helped the participants to get clarity of pronouncing the words correctly and the importance of usage of the dictionary in daily life.
