Online competition by British Council "Read-Along, Story -a-Thon"

“Inside each of us is a natural-born storyteller, waiting to be released.”

In the spirit of the above thought, the students of classes 1 to 5 of The Indian School-Second Shift enthusiastically took part in the “Story-a -thon" organised by Google and the British Council in September 2020.

The storyteller in each child was given a chance by this platform, to discover his/ her potential to tell a tale. “How Will You Make the World A Better Place?” was the essence of this creative writing exercise, perfectly invoking the need of the hour for the young narrators. Soon the imaginations stretched and a vivid play of thought, ideas and drama was unleashed to make for an amazing outpour of creativity.

The stories were submitted online and are to be judged on the relevance of the content, thoughts and actions, structure, grammar and flow of the story. The young and effervescent storytellers came forth with a mosaic of tales which provided food for thought, reinforced moral values and even lent humour.

The future of the nation is to be moulded by the youth and the stories written at this event lend reassurance that our citizens of tomorrow are indeed thinking individuals, concerned for their communities.
