Observance Of Vigilance Awareness Week (26 October To 1 November 2021)
Commemorating 75 years of India’s Independence on August 15, 2022, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) observed Vigilance Awareness Week like every year, with an endeavour to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in public life and raise public awareness. This year, in line with the CVC’s theme, The Indian School-Second Shift observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 25th October 2021 to 1st November 2021 with the central theme- “Independent India @ Self Reliance with Integrity.”
The special occasion is observed every year during the week of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (31 October). We believe in the importance of inculcating values dear to the Sardar, in our children so that they understand and appreciate the importance of these values for nation-building. School organised several activities at different levels to create awareness on vigilance in public life.
An online poster making activity was taken up by class 5 based on the theme of the year. The students designed elaborative and captivating posters making it tough to select the best. The students of class 6 had a fun filled cartoon- making activity. They designed and made cartoon strips focusing on the theme.
A classroom discussion followed by a debate was organised for classes 7 and 8. Here students shared their views on the importance of India as a self-reliant nation. A virtual quiz through Google Form was held for the students of classes 5-8. The students enthusiastically participated and attempted the quiz.
For inculcating a greater awareness of vigilance in public life, students took an E- Integrity pledge during the online classes. The activities not only help inculcate honesty, integrity and transparency amongst our future citizens but also help them imbibe a feeling of collectively participating in the prevention of, and the fight against corruption.
