Nutrition Week observed across School
Nutrition Week, held from September 1 to 4, 2025, aimed to raise student awareness about balanced dietary practices and to foster mindful, informed eating habits. The programme featured a range of developmentally appropriate activities designed to stimulate critical thinking, encourage creative expression, and provide hands'-on learning experiences around the theme of nutrition.
Through the week, a thoughtfully curated series of activities engaged students across different grade levels through interactive and experiential strategies. Educational games reinforced understanding of food groups and encouraged active participation, while visual and creative tasks—such as designing balanced diet charts and solving nutrition-themed puzzles—helped build conceptual clarity and long-term retention. A hands'-on activity estimating sugar content in common beverages using sugar packets further transformed abstract nutritional data into a concrete, memorable lesson.
Students also took part in a guided mindful-eating session based on the "Sit–Slow–Savour" (S–S–S) model", which encouraged them to reflect on the quality of their food choices and eating habits. In addition, nutrition workshops, myth-busting initiatives, and awareness campaigns provided opportunities for critical evaluation of common misconceptions and for exploring contemporary debates about nutrition.
In essence, Nutrition Week was a resounding success. It combined educational depth with experiential engagement, inspiring students to make healthier food choices, to think critically about nutrition, and to nurture lasting habits of mindful eating. The celebration, enriched with curiosity, creativity, and collaboration, left a meaningful and lasting impact on our School community.
