National Youth Day activities

“Arise! Awake! and stop not until the goal is reached.” -Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda propounded the significance of education in nation-building. He believed that education is the primary means of empowering people. In 1984, the Indian government declared Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary as National Youth Day and since 1985, it has been celebrated to honour Vivekananda's teachings in perpetuity. This year, the theme for the occasion is  'Viksit Yuva-Viksit Bharat'.

National Youth Day is being observed on 12 January Swami Vivekananda was a Hindu monk, philosopher, author, religious teacher, and the chief disciple of mystic Swami Ramakrishna. 

Class 6 wrote slogans to raise interfaith awareness with the help of his teachings.

Classes 7 and 8 made posters to promote awareness of people's rights and to provide information about them.

The students of class 9 engaged in a discussion on "Viksit Yuva-Viksit Bharat" wherein they shared innovative ideas which aim at empowering the youth in the direction of knowledge and self-enlightenment.

As Swami Vivekananda said,’’ this is the time to decide your future while you possess the energy of youth, not when you are worn out and jaded, but with the freshness and vigour of youth’’.

Through these activities, the students were sensitised about the importance of coming together and reflecting upon the importance of education, self-improvement and social responsibility.
