National Energy Conservation Day activities

National Energy Conservation Day is observed every year on 14th December to create awareness about the importance of energy efficiency and conservation. It propounds the need for a judicious use of energy and ensuring its minimal wastage.

As a part of the Eco Club activity, Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav, to celebrate 75 years of independence, various activities were conducted to educate and train the students of The Indian school- Second Shift about preserving energy and resources for future generations.

The students of Primary made posters on National Energy Conservation Day to create awareness amongst their peers. The students depicted ways that they have adopted in their daily lives to curb the consumption of energy.

The students of class VII participated in a quiz where the questions were based on ways of energy conservation. Students suggested ways to conserve energy at home and to encourage others in their surroundings.

The students were sensitised about  switching off the lights for at least 10 minutes every night at 9 pm during January, as their contribution towards saving energy.

The children also watched informative videos that emphasised how every citizen can contribute to saving energy by eliminating the wasteful use of fans, light, heaters and other electrical instruments used in daily life. It is the easiest way to save energy and can play an important role in energy conservation campaigns.
