Mother's Day celebrations

“God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers.”- Rudyard Kipling

The students of The Indian School-Second Shift celebrated the special occasion of Mother's Day in great enthusiasm.  A mother's selfless love and care are pivotal in nurturing a child, and there cannot be a more universal celebration than the one that celebrates the accomplishments and efforts of every mother.

Keeping this bond in mind, the students of Pre school to class 3 celebrated Mother’s Day on 7 May 2022. They showcased their love, respect and appreciation for their mothers in different ways.

A song is an endearing way to express emotion and the tiny tots of Pre school sang the song ' I love you, Mumma!' and crafted cards with their little hands. They also made special appreciation brooches which they presented to their mothers.

The students of Pre primary had a special celebration on Mother's Day. The teacher made an earnest effort to instil the importance of Mother in a child's life through effective value based stories, dramatisation and rhymes. The little ones passionately involved themselves in making cards for their mothers.
The students of class 1 celebrated the day with beautiful craft as a token of love for their beloved mothers. They crafted 'the home' using ice cream sticks and pasted their mothers' picture in it. They titled the craft ‘Home is where mom is!’ It was a delight to see the young ones decorating 'their homes' in their own unique way. They also sang songs, ‘I love you, you love me’ and ‘You are my sunshine.’

The students of class 2 made beautiful handmade cards to represent their love towards their mothers which enhanced their creative skill and value of education. There was a classroom discussion on the topic  “A mother’s strength and love guide us and give us wings to fly.”

The students of class 3 conceived of special awards for their mothers which enhanced their thinking skills and  strengthened their social intelligence.

It was a pleasure watching the excited and energetic children during these activities. All in all, it was an enjoyable and memorable day for each and every child. It is important to recognise and appreciate our mothers for all that they do for us. We often take our mothers for granted and forget their sacrifices. It is important to not let this love and sacrifice go unsung.
