Middle School visits the Delhi World Book Fair

This book fair is considered special for book lovers. Those interested in learning about the country’s history and culture can find excellent books at this fair. ITPO Manager Sanjay Vashisht stated that Indian books represent our cultural heritage, and their global impact cannot be ignored. With this in mind, this year’s annual event theme is 'The Global Impact of Indian Books.' Book fairs around the world are a great  way to encourage reading habits, especially among young people.

"Besides promoting books of all genres, the aim is to focus on providing students with educational books and stationery," says Hema Maity, GM of the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO).

Students  of The Indian School – Second Shift of classes 7– 8 , got the opportunity to visit the Delhi Book Fair , accompanied by their teachers on 8th August 2024. Class 6 also visited the fair on 9th August 2024. 

Upon arrival, the students were thrilled to see the vast array of books on display, covering fiction, non-fiction, comics, and more. The fair featured various stalls like Rupa Publications, Oswaal and stationery stalls and displays including interactive sessions, book launches, and authors' 'meet-and-greet'.

Students enthusiastically browsed through books, making recommendations to each other. Many students purchased books, eager to dive into new stories and adventures.

The visit to the Delhi Book Fair 2024 was an enriching experience for the students of The Indian School – Second Shift. It not only fostered a deeper appreciation for literature but also inspired them to explore the diverse world of books. The event successfully encouraged the students to develop a lifelong love for reading, providing them with valuable resources and insights into the significance of Indian books on a global scale. Overall, the book fair was a memorable educational outing that left the students excited about their newfound literary treasures.
