The beginning of a new academic year always brings a wave of fresh energy, hope, and inspiration. On 3rd May 2025, The Indian School-Second Shift community gathered to celebrate one of the most momentous occasions in our calendar—the Investiture Ceremony for the session 2025–26. This annual tradition marks the formal induction of our newly elected Student Council, who step forward as role models, ready to serve with humility, courage, and commitment.
The event opened with a melodious welcome by the school choir, setting an uplifting tone. As the audience settled, the student leaders made a dignified entrance, proudly carrying their house flags, symbolizing the responsibilities they were about to undertake. Under the guidance of Sports In-Charge Ms. Vanshikha Rana, the ceremony proceeded seamlessly, graced by the esteemed SMC member Mrs. Neena Maini, Headmistress Ms. Sanjeeta Roy, the PTA representatives, and the proud parents.
The highlight of the event was the Badge Distribution, a symbolic and proud moment for every leader stepping into their role. The newly elected Student Council members marched confidently onto the stage, proudly bearing the School and House flags as a symbol of their commitment to their new responsibilities. Their gleaming badges and sashes were ceremoniously conferred by the esteemed guests, marking the beginning of their leadership journey.
The ceremony began with the announcement of our Head Girl, Bhavyaa Chaudhary, and Head Boy, Sayyed Mohd. Aliuddin, both from class X-A. They stepped forward with confidence as they received their badges, ready to shoulder the responsibilities ahead.
This was followed by the investiture of our Sports Captain, Shreyan Vinod (X-A), and Sports Vice Captain, Divyanshu Joshi (IX-A), who will lead the sporting spirit of our school. Next, the Citizenship Captain, Shaumik Sannigrahi (X-A), was recognised for his commitment to civic awareness and responsible action.
The stage then welcomed our Co-curricular Captain, Sukaina Fatima (IX-A), followed by the Life Skills & Wellness Captain, Suhana (X-A), entrusted with promoting wellbeing and mindfulness across campus. Editorial Captain, Pawni Dawar (X-A), and Discipline Captain, Abdul Rahman (X-A), were also honoured with their badges, ready to contribute to the school community with integrity and resolve.
The house system at our school comprising Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, and Venus-plays a vital role in fostering team spirit, a sense of belonging, and mentorship between senior and junior students. This spirit of leadership was exemplified as House Captains Riya (Jupiter), Manav Singh (Saturn), Surekha (Mars), and Yuvakshi Saini (Venus) took charge of their respective houses. At the primary level, House Prefects Khushi (Jupiter), Jasreet Kaur (Saturn), Aditya Kumar (Mars), and Vianika Rustgi (Venus) proudly embraced their first leadership roles, further strengthening the tradition of guidance and unity within the school community. Following the badge distribution, the student council stood collectively for the Oath Taking Ceremony, pledging to uphold the values of honesty, respect, and dedication in their service to the school.
Our Headmistress, Ms Sanjeeta Roy, then addressed the gathering with a heartfelt message. She spoke about the essence of true leadership—one that stems from empathy, perseverance, and the courage to do what is right. Her words resonated deeply, inspiring not only the student council but every individual present.
The ceremony concluded with the uplifting voices of the students joining in unison for the School Song, followed by the National Anthem, marking the end of a meaningful and memorable morning.
As the curtain falls on this grand occasion, we step into the new academic year with renewed purpose.
