International Tiger Day activities
“The tiger is a symbol of beauty, strength, and nationality so save the Tiger and save our nation' pride.”
Global Tiger Day, often called International Tiger Day, is an annual celebration to raise awareness for tiger conservation. It is observed on 29 July each year. To promote this cause, our little Indianities of classes Pre School to II participated enthusiastically in special activities on the occasion.
The little munchkins of Pre school made tiger craft with icecream sticks and presented a group dance to a special song on the tiger.
A mask making activity was organised for the tiny tots of Pre primary. The children enjoyed a colouring and pasting activity on a cut out of a tiger's face. They also crafted a tiger mask. The significance of the connection between wildlife and people at large was explained to the children in a discussion.
The students of class 1 observed Tiger Day by making posters with the slogan, ‘Save Tigers.’ They thoroughly enjoyed the story ‘How the tiger got its Stripes ’ which was narrated in the class.
The students of class 2 celebrated World Tiger Day by making tiger masks and writing creative slogans as appeals to humanity to save tigers. The objective of this activity was to raise awareness and sensitivity about the animal among our young students. It also exercised their kinesthetic and interpersonal skills.
The celebration of International Tiger's Day thus contributed to the overall holistic development of the students. Besides it helped create new awareness about promoting a global eco system for protecting the natural habitats of tigers and to raise public awareness and support for tiger conservation.
