International Peace Day celebrations

It has been rightly said, ‘Helping hands and loyal beings can shape a world of Peace and Harmony”. Keeping the spirit of this statement , The Indian School-Second Shift celebrated September 21, 2020 as International Peace Day.

To commemorate this day, students of classes VII and VIII jointly took an initiative to voice the need of the hour - "Peace and Humanity". Students at large, designed eye catching and informative posters, made digital pamphlets and read aloud excerpts from famous writings like, "I am Malala", "Gandhi - an autobiography" and "Long Walk to Freedom". These memorable accounts carry the timeless message of compassion, kindness and peace.

Keeping pace with the digital world, students took online pledges of restoring peace. To substantiate the same, portraits of famous winners of the Nobel Peace prize were also held up as display.

Peace Day is observed every year at our School to sensitise students to the suffering and bitterness of conflict and its long lasting impact on mankind. Peace must be made the tool of progress, not weapons of war, is the message sought to be ingrained.
