Intach Content Workshop Report

"A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture is like a tree without roots."  Marcus Garvey

HECS, INTACH conducted a Filmit workshop for students on 26th July 2023. This was enthusiastically attended by the teachers and students of many schools of Delhi- NCR. Ms Shivangi Gupta of The Indian School-Second Shift participated in the workshop along with 3 students from classes VI- VIII.

The workshop started with a brief introduction on INTACH and HECS by  Ms Purnima Datt,  Director General, HECS. A short INTACH film was shown explaining the objectives and works of the organisation. Then, the students were shown a PPT on the topics on which they were  to make 2 minute films. They were also shown some short films previously made by other students on cultural heritage, water, etc. It was for the participants to have an idea of how they were to prepare the content of their movies.

In the next session of the workshop, the students' creative and kinesthetic skills were discussed, where they brushed up their creative and innovative skills to make movies. They partook in activities like finishing the story, fillers, thinking about the theme of the movie, and so on.

The workshop concluded with a condolence speech in memory of the late Dr Shobita Punja, by Ms Purnima Datt and by chairman Shri Virinder Kishore Kapoor, IPS (Retd.).

This workshop gave a brilliant opportunity to the students to develop their interest and skills in film making and its various associated aspects, while giving them an insight into topics elaborating our heritage and environment.
