Independence Day Assembly
Celebrating the 79th Independence Day: A Heartfelt Tribute
On 14th August 2025, the spirit of patriotism came alive at our School as students from classes 8, 9, and 10 hosted a special assembly to mark India’s 79th Independence Day. The auditorium was filled with excitement, colour, and pride as students from Pre school to class 10 gathered to celebrate this important day together.
The celebration began with a thought-provoking address by Headmistress, Ms Sanjeeta Roy. She spoke about the significance of the Tricolour and reminded us of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. She also shared powerful excerpts from the historic ‘Tryst with Destiny’ speech and gave students a glimpse into what the world looked like through newspapers from 1947—a moment that truly brought history to life.
The atmosphere grew even more emotional when the School choir, dressed in elegant attire, took the stage to present “Ae Watan, Watan Mere, Aabaad Rahe Tu”. Their melodious voices touched everyone’s hearts and reminded us of all the love we carry for our country.
Teachers from the Hindi and Sanskrit departments shared heartfelt reflections about the importance of Independence Day. Their poems and messages emphasised unity, responsibility, and the power that each of us holds in shaping the future of our beloved motherland.
Adding a splash of colour and rhythm, our talented dance group presented a beautifully choreographed patriotic routine, dressed in the vibrant hues of the national flag. Their energy, grace, and passion lit up the stage.
To keep the momentum going, the students took part in an engaging quiz on India’s rich history. From freedom fighters and key events to modern milestones, the questions sparked curiosity and healthy competition among the participants.
The assembly ended on a powerful note as the entire School stood together to sing the national anthem, followed by the School Song. It was a moving moment of unity and pride, with voices joined in tribute to the nation.
The Independence Day spirit wasn’t limited to the auditorium. All across the School, the corridors and the classrooms were buzzing with creativity and pride.
Our youngest learners in Pre school sang patriotic rhymes and listened carefully to the story of India’s freedom struggle. They joyfully engaged with thumbprint art of the India Gate using saffron, white, and green.
Pre Primary students brought the Tricolour to life by painting it with cotton buds and colouring the national symbols with excitement and care.
In classes I and II, students did Tricolour art and sang patriotic songs in great enthusiasm, while classes IV and V made handmade badges, wrote heartfelt reflections, and created beautiful Rangolis and drawings to honour the day.
Middle School students ( classes VI to VIII) designed posters and offered artistic tributes to our brave soldiers and the nation. Their decorations, filled with Tricolour themes and messages of gratitude, added vibrancy and meaning to the School environment.
A Day to Remember
This year’s Independence Day celebration was more than just an event—it was an experience. A day filled with music, stories, creativity, and emotion. Every student, from the youngest to the oldest, contributed in a special way. The enthusiasm and heartfelt expressions reminded us of the true meaning of freedom and the joy of being part of one nation.
We ended the day with our hearts full—with pride for our past, hope for our future, and gratitude for the present.
