Honours for TFS at the ANNUAL HT-PACE Inter-School Essay Writing Competition

On 20th November 2018, HT-PACE organised an Inter-School Essay Writing Competition, the theme of which was Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources. The event was held at the Indira Paryavaran Bhawan on Jor Bagh Road and was divided in two distinct categories i.e. Junior and Senior. The entries were judged by Ms.Naaz Rizwi (Director, National Museum of Natural History), and a panel of eminent scientists- Dr.Vikram S. Negi, Dr. C. R. Magesh, Dr. A. Benniamin and Dr. Shakti Kumar.

The Valedictory Function coincided with International Mountain Day, observed globally on 11th December every year. It also marked the twenty year collaboration of HT-PACE with the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) from 1998-2018. On our 25th Independence Day, 1972, then Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, had said that India needed such a museum "to promote environmental awareness". With its priceless exhibits, NMNH was opened to visitors in 1978 on World Environment Day (5th June).

The worthy scientists, who work on the Himalayas, enlightened all the winners and the students present about the timeless importance of the mountains. Ms.Naaz Rizwi inspired them by quoting Dr. Harshwardhans belief- Everyday should be a green good deed.

We are extremely proud of our students who clinched awards in both the categories. Heartiest congratulations to Mehar Sagoi of class VII-A and Ms.Alvira Imam of V-A for winning the Third Prize ( Senior Category) and the Encouragement Prize (Junior Category) respectively! You have made us proud.

We thank HT-PACE for providing such wide platforms to our students that makes them aware of the natural resources and natural history of India.
