'Happy Feet' in Pre-School
Dance and music are two forms of art that every child connects with. Keeping this in mind, we conducted an exercise named Happy Feet at The Indian School-Second Shift. The dual purpose of this was, an opportunity for building confidence on stage among our youngest and simultaneously introducing them to the folk dances from across the country.
Each class had its distinct theme, costumes and songs from a different state. The first class to perform was PS Bulbul who took the patriotic theme to a level by vigorously presenting steps of the Bhangra. The boys were dressed in crisp kurta-and pyjamas with brightly coloured turbans and girls charmed us in their salwar kameez.

The second class to perform was PS Sparrow who brought in the beauty of traditional Bengal with the girls wearing their white sarees with the red border and boys in white kurtas. The students danced to the timeless 'Dhintang dhitang..'
Last but not the least was PS Robin who presented dance steps which were a fusion of Rajasthani and Gujarati ! The girls wore attractive lehenga- cholis and the boys wore embroidered shirts.
The children of Pre-school thoroughly enjoyed learning the new steps and spared no opportunity to ( on the sly!) even try out those being taught to the other sections! Obviously the enthusiasm was infectious!
The students beamed with joy on stage and set the mood for the upcoming festive season.
