Halloween celebrations in class 1

“Trick or treat, bags of sweets, ghosts are walking down the street.”

Halloween is celebrated in various parts of the world on 31st October every year. The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts.

On 28 October 2020, in the same spirit, the students of class I geared up to celebrate this international festival. They enthusiastically dressed up as vampires, witches and ghosts for the occasion!

The event started with the guessing game. The students joined the virtual celebration with their cameras turned off. Each one shared three clues about his/ her costume and the others volunteered guesses to arrive at what it was!

To familiarise our students about Halloween, the teachers explained how the west celebrates this festival, through a video about it. The students were amazed to know that the festival is not just about dressing up scary, scary stories, 'trick - or –treat'.

The celebration concluded with a song and dance presentation on the song Halloween Stomp.
