Guru Govind Singh
The students of The Indian School –Second Shift celebrated the 355th birth anniversary of the 10th Guru of the Sikhs- ‘Guru Govind Singh’ on January 5, 2023, with respect, excitement and in enthusiasm. He was a spiritual master, warrior, and the last guru of the Sikhs. It is a celebration in which prayers for prosperity are offered.
Since the roots of festivals lie in history and tradition, the students of class 3 celebrated the auspicious occasion by crafting a beautiful Kalgi and decorating it. The children of class 4 etched attractive portraits conveying the message of inherent morality, hard work and truthfulness. They also took a promise to live honestly, treat everyone equally and respect the environment.
The students of class 5 helped make the sacred Kada prasad at home and relished it with their family members. It is an age old tradition started by the great Sikh Guru to serve a hot meal to hungry people.
The enduring values enshrined in the life of Guru Gobind Singh were hereby passed on to the students.
