Governmented Mega Plantation Drive

Planting trees is deeply linked to the ‘holistic’ well being of all individuals, communities and the planet. The government took the initiative and organised a Mega-Plantation Drive on 28 February, 2023 at Bela Farms, Shastri Park in Shastri Park. The drive targeted to increasing the city's green cover for the purpose of reducing pollution.
Various participants from private and government schools across Delhi participated in the event. Ms Anupriya Chaudhary and Ms Shivangi Gupta represented the Indian School-Second Shift.
This drive aims at planting 52 lakh trees this year. The drive was launched with the planting of 20,000 trees at a location near Shastri Park as part of Green Agenda 2023. The government appreciated the citizens of Delhi for achieving the target of of the previous year. Green Agenda 2023 is a comprehensive strategy that aims to respond to environmental problems and promote general economic growth. It will help create a future where we prioritise the well being of our countrymen and the economy. This system is a joint effort to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, conserve natural resources and promote ecological practices.
The Mega Plantation Drive is a major initiative to make the city greener, cleaner and healthier for the people of Delhi. It will help reduce pollution levels and create a more sustainable environment for the future.
The event concluded with the plantation of 20,000 trees in the area including some unique species such as the Arjuna, Sheesham, Jamun, Gular, Kadam, Kathal, Gulmohar, Amaltas, Banyan, Peepal and Moulsari which provide food, shelter, medicine and many other benefits for life.
