Festival Bonanza Across Borders
On 2 November, 2015, The Indian School-Second Shift touched a new milestone in bringing the world into the classroom with video conferencing.
The Indian School-Second Shift, The Indian School and Kulachi Hansraj School from Delhi interacted on a video conference with Boston College and Conningsby Primary School in the U.K. The little ones on both sides of the screen were delighted to see each other and needed little prompting to set off a dialogue!

The topic for discussion was ' Festival Bonanza' ( INDIA- Diwali). Our students spoke about the importance of this festival, why and how we celebrate. The students from the U.K were very excited and curious to hear about and also see rangoli designs, painted diyas and Indian sweets. Our children explained how they are now trying to spread the message about saying no to crackers.
This video conference was a collaborative opportunity for the students and the companion- schools for a better understanding of each others culture. A new canvas of learning has thus been cut.
