A special assembly celebrating the festivals of Raksha Bandhan and Janamashtami was organised on Tuesday, 25th August for the students of Bal Vatika 1 to Class 2. The assembly was a delightful blend of cultural expression, music, dance, drama, and meaningful values.
The programme began with the Bal Vatika 1 children, who presented a charming rhyme on Raksha Bandhan. Their cheerful presentation beautifully conveyed the bond of love, care, and gender equality shared between siblings.
This was followed by the Pre primary Dove, who presented a meaningful play on gender equality in the context of Raksha Bandhan. Through their enactment, the children conveyed the important message that love, protection, care, and responsibility are not limited by gender. Their confident performance highlighted the values of equality, mutual respect, and togetherness.
The Pre primary Dove children then added a festive touch with an energetic dance performance on Janamashtami, beautifully portraying the joy and devotion associated with the birth of Lord Krishna and the values that are associated with Him.
The Class 1 students continued the celebrations with two vibrant performances. They presented a lively Janamashtami dance, filling the atmosphere with festive spirit and enthusiasm. They also presented a beautiful Raksha Bandhan performance, highlighting the special bond between siblings and the importance of love and care within a family.
The Class 2 students then presented a meaningful skit on Raksha Bandhan, showcasing the values of sibling love, protection, responsibility, and emotional bonding through an engaging enactment.
The assembly provided a wonderful platform for the young learners to celebrate Indian traditions while developing confidence, creativity, teamwork, and an appreciation for cultural values. The enthusiastic participation of the children made the celebration colourful, meaningful, and memorable.
The programme concluded on a joyful note, leaving everyone with the message that festivals are not merely celebrations but opportunities to strengthen relationships, respect one another, and cherish the values that bring us together.
