Dussehra Celebration in class 2
To mark the triumph of good over evil and to celebrate Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana, a virtual assembly was conducted by the students of class 2 on October 16, 2020. The special occasion was Dussehra.
The assembly started with an invocation and a short talk about the festival followed by the thought of the day –‘Victory of Good over Evil’.
The young students of class 2 presented a heart-warming rendition of a short scene from the Ramayana, where Sita crosses the Lakshman Rekha and is taken by King Ravana to Lanka. The students were excited to perform the dramatization of the scene from the great epic in their own special way. It was wonderful to see them confidently coordinating their parts in the play on a virtual platform. They seemed to thoroughly enjoy their parts.
The role play was followed by a recitation on Dussehra by a few children. Katyayani Mishra of class 2A sang a beautiful song on Vijaya Dashami. Last but not the least, a dance by Saumya was a treat to the eye.
The celebration reinforced in the young minds, the message of Dussehra as each one resolved to shun one bad habit as their mark of the destruction of what is bad.
