Day at the National Science Centre- class 2

The clock struck one and the kids ran down to board the buses! Yoooohoooo!!! it was time for an excursion.

The students of class II went to the National Science Centre on 11 August, 2017. Thrill, laughter and cheer filled the bus.

We arrived at our destination soon. It was evident from the excited faces of the students that they could not wait any longer. Each had their own list of what they wanted to see! They hopped off the bus and stood in pairs. It was lovely to see how well each one took care of their partners- not letting one another stray far from the teachers eye.

Floor by floor the students went observing everything. Their eyes gleamed with curiosity. They wanted to learn new things. They examined things, operated the working models and looked through a wide range of reading material. Soon one could spot the scientists among them! They saw the models of the earth, historical monuments, balances, sounds and so on.

The students were amazed to see the life of early men. They couldnt believe that our ancestors lived like that. They saw how fire was invented and the kids found that quite surprising. The exhibit head on the platter took the breath away! When you stand in there it appears that the head is chopped off and served on a plate. They couldnt comprehend for a while how something like that could happen. But soon our smart little Foundationers figured the science of it and got introduced to 3D.

The children loved the magical mirrors and the mirror maze. It was fun watching them bump into the mirrors trying to find the right way out. Next was the Dinosaur zone. It was dark and spooky in the hall. The children were at first a little frightened but slowly they got comfortable and started trying to pronounce the names of the different dinosaurs. They wanted to know the mechanics behind the movements of the life sized model. They learnt a new word extinct.

As the famous saying goes All good things must come to an end, so did this wonderful excursion. It was a perfect mix of fun and learning for both students as well as their teachers.

We boarded our buses and returned to School. We talked about our little trip and the children decided to draw an illustration of their visit, over the weekend. We wait to see what our budding artists will come up with!
