The Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India organised the INSPIRE Awards MANAK - 10th National Level Exhibition and Project Competition on the 9th and 10th of October 2023 at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex. The exhibition displayed exhibits of students from schools across the country .
The students of classes 8 and 9 of The Indian School – Second Shift got the opportunity to visit this exhibition to explore, learn and discover a new perspective of science and technology.
The exhibition had students from all parts of the country who were exhibiting their innovations. The young exhibitors explained their models and communicated their inherent merit to all visitors. The exhibition featured a diverse array of models, ranging from robotics and artificial intelligence to environmental conservation. The innovations reflected a realisation of national priorities, for instance, technologies for the differently-abled which included portable boots for helping the disabled, novel ideas for cleanliness and sanitation like automatic railway cleaning device as well as local and day to day necessities like the chalk dust suction pump, eco-friendly mask made of banana fibres, a first aid ATM and many more. Few were digital models that can contribute to the digital economy.
The exhibition was one of its kind because of its representation of diversity of innovations and geographical balance. Our students participated actively in understanding and exploring the exhibits. They also got hands-on experience by operating certain devices at the exhibition like learning to use the innovative pesticide spray pumps, working of the first aid ATM, etc. Students were excited while exploring the practical application of the science theories that they had learnt in their classes and hence, got encouraged to participate in similar future events.
Thus, the visit to INSPIRE Awards MANAK - 10th National Level Exhibition and Project Competition was an enriching and inspiring experience for all students. It provided a unique platform to witness the marvels of science and technology, encouraging curiosity and fostering a deeper understanding of the world around us. The event served as a reminder of the boundless potential of human innovation and the importance of continuous learning in shaping a better future. Through interactive exhibits, insightful discussions, and hands-on experiences, attendees gained valuable knowledge and left the exhibition with a renewed enthusiasm for the wonders of science.
