Classes 7 and 8 participate in TERI's Youth Climate Conclave

‘Climate change will test our intelligence, our compassion and our will. But we are equal to that challenge’. To support this thought, the students of The Indian School-Second Shift from classes 7 and 8 enthusiastically took part in the Youth Climate Conclave contest.

Simran, Vishakha and Rhea showcased their artistic talent in the short video competition “Act Now! Solutions for climate change”. Alvira and Anshika made an admirable contribution to highlight a sustainable lifestyle through their entries in a blog writing competition.

The participants were required to submit 2 minute videos that capture visuals of positive climate actions in the country. The videos were expected to showcase activities relating to sectors like Renewable Energy, Agriculture, Water, Energy, Waste Management, Sustainable Lifestyles, Resource Efficiency and Indigenous Knowledge. The blog was to reflect positive steps taken and be composed as an original and creative write-up highlighting how the youth of today can help in resolving issues of climate change.

The young and passionate environmentalists came forth with innovative and sustainable solutions. The videos and blogs were submitted online and will be judged for content, presentation and accuracy of facts.

The competition provided students  a platform to showcase independant ideas which might help to bring a positive impact on society and the world at large.
