Classes 3-10 observe World Space Week

World Space Week is observed globally to enlighten people about the development of science, technology and astronomy. It also celebrates the contributions of science for the betterment of the human race. In the light of this, The Indian School-Second Shift conducted various activities from 4th to 10th October 24 for classes 3 to 10.

Class 3 students were engaged in an exciting activity where they launched rockets made from painted paper cups. Each student decorated his or her cup to resemble a rocket, and then enjoyed launching it to simulate a real rocket launch. This hands'-on activity sparked curiosity about space in the young students.

Class 4 had a fancy-dress competition in which they dressed up like a planet in the solar system and spoke a few lines about the planet. This activity enabled the students to become acquainted with the solar system and also get to know a few characteristic features of it.

Classes 7 and 9 conducted a quiz on concepts relating to space, science and technology and class 8 participated in an engaging essay writing activity on the topic, 'The Importance of Satellites in Daily Life'. During the activity, the students explored how satellites play a vital role in communication, weather forecasting, GPS navigation, and even disaster management. They learned that satellites help connect the world, making it possible to access the internet, monitor environmental changes, and ensure global security. This exercise enhanced their writing skills and broadened their understanding of the technological advancements that impact their daily lives. The activity encouraged critical thinking and fostered curiosity about space technology. Class 10 discussed various aspects of space exploration in the classroom
