Class 6B virtually meets Vietnamese peers

“Collaboration allows us to know more than we are capable of knowing ourselves.” - Paul Solarz

The students of class 6B accompanied by their English teacher, Ms Kanika Batheja engaged in an interactive session with Ms An Nhien and her students at the Vinschool Times City in Hanoi, Vietnam on 17 December 2021 via Google Meet.

The session was based on learning to exchange dialogue virtually on a one-to-one basis building a strong online classroom. The purpose of this collaboration was to improve the social, emotional and speaking skills of students, whilst improving cultural awareness.

The session commenced with introductions and greetings and sharing about the two schools. Ankush Mondal shared the vision of his school.

With a long questionnaire, students participated in a question-answer round wherein by turn, each one probed a peer on the other side of the screen to find an answer.  They were excited and curious to know about the geographical setting, way of life, ethos of the schools and the cultures. Accelerating the connection, our student, Manha Khan narrated a Christmas story in a flipbook presentation for the guests.

As the session came to a close, both the groups promised to meet again. On a special request of the guest school, the meeting concluded with a  'Namaste'.
