Class 6 excursion to The National Museum.

On 18th of April, 2017, we went to the National Museum on Janpath. The first section we visited was the Harappan Civilisation. was filled with different kinds of pottery, weapons, paintings etc. We also saw some photo-footage of the Harappan drainage system.

We walked around the galleries and also saw many sculptures. There was an explanation about 'what is art'. The exhibits were just beautiful, simply beautiful! To me, the most astonishing part was the huge array of jewellery! It was made of gold, ruby, sapphires and even diamonds! We were amazed to see the punch- marked gold coins and boards with the scripts of several different languages of the world.

The whole experience was very fascinating and informative too! After I reached home, I told my mother to take me to the museum again on Sunday because we did not have the time to explore all the treasures of the museum as we were short of time. She was very happy and said she would plan a trip with the whole family.

After the visit, I realised that history is indeed very interesting! MEHER, class 6 A.
